Your content is kept apart from everyone else's, served only to people you allow, and stored in the region you choose. And when the library cannot support an answer, plycdn says so.
Who can see what.
Permissions are part of retrieval, not a layer beside it.
- Permissions inside search
- Answers are built on the same search that enforces access. Nothing a reader may not see is retrieved, so nothing they may not see can be cited.
- Organizations kept apart
- Content is isolated per organization. A parent can be given sight of its sub-organizations; a sub-organization sees only its own.
- Private by default delivery
- Private buckets and video libraries serve nothing without a link your backend signed. Links expire, and can be tied to the viewer, to your own pages or to countries.
Keys and records you can account for.
- Two kinds of key
- A standard key for the service your users reach, and an admin key for the automation that sets things up. Admin keys are created only in the dashboard.
- Shown once, replaced without downtime
- A key is displayed when it is created and cannot be read again, by you or by us. Up to two are active at once, so you rotate without a gap.
- A record of every change
- Key and sub-organization changes, and every bucket change, key rotation, upload completion, deletion and cache purge, are written to audit logs you can read.
- Encrypted, and HTTPS only
- Files are encrypted at rest, and the S3 and Azure endpoints accept HTTPS only.
Residency you choose, and can record.
Available regions: Mumbai, India. A bucket stores its files in the region you pick when you create it, and more regions open on request.
Strict residency can be set on a bucket in Mumbai, India, to record that its files must stay in their country. Delivery runs through our edge so viewers elsewhere are served nearby.
Answers that show their working
- Withhold
Passages below a relevance floor are withheld, and you are told how many, so a thin answer is visibly thin.
- Refuse
When nothing is good enough there is no answer at all: an explicit empty result you can act on.
- Separate
Citations distinguish the sources an answer used from those merely offered as further reading.
